Russia attacks Kyiv: Explosions heard, debris falls

Kyiv experienced a barrage of explosions early Thursday as Russian ballistic missiles targeted the Ukrainian capital. The Ukrainian Air Force announced the detection of incoming missiles, prompting widespread air raid alerts across Kyiv and surrounding regions.

Debris from the attack later fell in the Podil district, impacting a residential building's courtyard. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, debris also landed on the grounds of an educational institution. Emergency services are currently on the scene, working to determine the full extent of casualties and material damage.

The attack comes as Ukraine continues to call for stronger international action against Russia's military capabilities. Kyiv has urged its global partners to impose sanctions on over a hundred Russian manufacturers involved in the production of ballistic missiles.
