Russia attacks Ukraine's Naftogaz facilities for third consecutive day

Russian forces have intensified attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, targeting Naftogaz facilities for the third day in a row. The assaults have resulted in substantial damage to production sites and critical equipment, raising concerns about Ukraine's energy security.

Recent attacks include drone strikes on Ukrnafta production facilities and a well on the night of August 9, rendering some equipment inoperable and halting operations at the site. While safety measures prevented any employee injuries during this specific incident, previous attacks on August 7 and 8 hit seven fuel depots, injuring one employee, and severely damaged another Naftogaz production facility.

Serhiy Fedorenko, the interim head of Naftogaz, stated that the objective of these escalating attacks appears to be inflicting maximum damage and disrupting Ukraine's preparations for the upcoming heating season. Despite the challenges, the company stressed that protecting its personnel and maintaining operations remain top priorities.
