Russia Guarantees Malaysia's Energy Supply for 20 Years

Malaysia has received a significant assurance from Russia regarding its energy security, with President Vladimir Putin committing to guarantee fuel supplies for at least two decades. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the important development, stating that the commitment covers petrol, gas, and diesel.

The assurance was secured during Anwar's working visit to Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia, where he attended the 35th ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit. The understanding between the two nations is expected to ensure the continued availability of these essential energy resources for Malaysia through a long-term cooperation framework.

This agreement signifies a deepening of bilateral ties between Malaysia and Russia, particularly in the crucial energy sector. The 20-year guarantee aims to provide Malaysia with a stable and reliable source of fuel, mitigating potential supply disruptions and contributing to the nation's energy security.
