Russian hacker group claims responsibility for cyberattacks against Norway

A Russian hacker group named Server Killers has declared cyber warfare against Norway, claiming responsibility for recent data attacks that have disrupted public services for three days.

The group stated on Telegram that the attacks were a response to a new strategic partnership agreement signed between Ukraine and Norway on August 23. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the cooperation agreement in Kyiv.

Server Killers has previously claimed responsibility for attacks in other countries, including Denmark and the United Kingdom, citing their support for Ukraine as the motive. The current attack against Norway is described as a "denial-of-service" attack, which overwhelms online services, making them inaccessible.

According to the Digitalization Agency (Digdir), the attacks continued on Wednesday. Digdir has referred inquiries to the National Security Authority (NSM), Kripos, and the Police Security Service (PST).
