Russian missile attack kills three, injures twenty in Kharkiv suburb

At least three people died and twenty were injured in a Russian missile strike on a postal terminal in a Kharkiv suburb on July 19, 2026. Regional Military Administration head Ole Siniehubov reported the casualties via Telegram, identifying the deceased as men aged 24, 45, and 62. Three of the injured are in critical condition, with doctors fighting to save their lives.

Emergency services are operating in an intensified mode. This attack follows a night of Russian strikes on various Ukrainian regions, including Kyiv, where at least one person was killed. The Ukrainian Air Force stated that Russia launched nearly two dozen missiles toward Kyiv and its surroundings. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on X that Russia fired over forty missiles and 120 attack drones overnight, primarily targeting Kyiv.

Zelenskyy expressed solidarity with the families of victims in the Kyiv region, where one person died and 16 were injured. The attacks damaged numerous buildings, including a supermarket. The previous day, Ukraine had attacked two logistics centers in Russia, which Zelenskyy claimed were used for military purposes, resulting in at least eight deaths.

Russia has been conducting near-daily missile and drone attacks on Ukraine for four years, while the Ukrainian military has increased its drone attacks on Russia. Zelenskyy is currently navigating domestic challenges, including protests over the dismissal of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and potential changes in the army's leadership. He noted that Russia had attacked Ukrainian regions with 1,450 drones, 1,640 guided bombs, and 99 missiles of various types during the week. Zelenskyy emphasized that improving protection against ballistic missiles, requiring interception systems, is the current priority.
