Russian strikes destroy Zaporizhzhia standardization center, damage businesses

Russian strikes obliterated the State Center for Standardization, Metrology, and Certification in Zaporizhzhia, along with a garage cooperative and a local restaurant. The owner of the restaurant and bakery chain, Oleksiy Puchkov, described the devastating impact of the overnight attack.

"The State Center for Standardization, Metrology, and Certification was destroyed, as well as a garage cooperative and my restaurant; the premises of the bakery 'Urozhai,' which are currently closed, were also damaged," Puchkov stated. He recounted learning about the strike near his establishment but was unprepared for the severity of the damage.

But when I arrived at the scene in the morning, I realized that our restaurant would definitely not be open today. And frankly, I don't even know if we can open again. There are no windows left, the equipment is damaged," Puchkov said. Dozens of cars were damaged in the garage cooperative, where garages were also destroyed.

Residents are currently assessing the damage at the strike site. The attack on the night of August 11 involved a combined Russian drone and missile assault on Zaporizhzhia, which damaged buildings and resulted in six deaths and 19 injuries.
