RXZ Rider Killed After Motorcycle Collision on LPT2

A 38-year-old Yamaha RXZ rider died after his motorcycle brushed against another bike and a car struck him on the East Coast Expressway 2 in Hulu Terengganu.

The crash occurred at about 11:45 p.m. on the Ajil-Telemong stretch, near Kilometer 406.4. Police said the three vehicles had been travelling from Ajil toward Telemong after returning from Cherating, Pahang, and were heading to Kuala Terengganu.

The three vehicles involved were believed to be travelling from Ajil toward Telemong after returning from Cherating, Pahang, to Kuala Terengganu.

Hulu Terengganu district police chief Superintendent Sharudin Abdul Wahab said preliminary investigations found that the two motorcycles fell onto the road after making contact. A Honda HR-V travelling behind then hit Mohd. Yusri Rusdi, who was thrown into a roadside drain.

The other rider, Eiri Aizul M. Safri, 34, suffered a broken right arm and cuts to his body. He was taken to the emergency ward at Hulu Terengganu Hospital. The Honda’s driver, Muhammad Azizi Syafiq Othman, 25, and passenger, Muhammad Afham Syaqyrin Mohd Afrizu, 23, escaped injury. Police are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Initial investigations found that the motorcycle ridden by the victim brushed against another motorcycle before both fell onto the road. The car travelling behind then hit the victim, who had fallen in the right lane.
