Sahmyook University launches Global CEO program for North American Korean leaders

Sahmyook University, celebrating its 120th anniversary, has successfully launched its 'North America Sahmyook Global CEO (GCEO) Program,' graduating its inaugural class of 20 Korean business leaders and professionals. The program aims to strengthen the capabilities and networks of Korean executives operating in North America, equipping them to navigate the complexities of the modern global economy.

Sahmyook University, celebrating its 120th anniversary, begins a new voyage of 'global educational contribution' through the GCEO program. I hope Korean leaders active in North America will create a community of good leadership by sharing their experiences and wisdom.

The graduation ceremony for the first cohort was held on July 11 at the Pacific Palms Resort in California. Attendees included Sahmyook University President Je Hae-jong, California State Senator David Chu, and leaders from the Adventist Church and alumni associations, who gathered to congratulate the graduates. U.S. Representative Young Kim sent a congratulatory video message.

Organized by the Global Korean Adventist Business Associate (GKABA) and supported by the Sahmyook University North America Alumni Association, the GCEO program was designed to enhance strategic insight and execution skills. It addresses the challenges posed by AI proliferation, accelerating digital transformation, and supply chain realignments. The 4-week program, running from June 16, utilized a hybrid online and offline format, meeting three times a week.

The curriculum featured modules on global strategy, AI-driven business innovation, leadership, humanistic decision-making, and organizational communication. Instruction was delivered by prominent figures from Sahmyook University, including former presidents Kim Sung-ik and Kim Yong-sun, Vice President Seo Kyung-hyun, and University Innovation Support Group Director Choi Sung-wook, bringing the university's core educational strengths to the forefront. Graduates include prominent figures such as Kim Jin-jung, CEO of ACI Law Group, and Janet Lee, Managing Director of Samsung Biologics' US CDO business.
