Key figures from the joint opposition, including its convener Professor G. L. Peiris, are expected to participate in the Galle seminar. The SJB's absence is notable, especially given the importance of addressing national issues collectively.

Members of the SJB have expressed concern that this fragmentation within the opposition is counterproductive, particularly at a time when unity is crucial for addressing the country's common challenges.
