Samsung unveils new Galaxy Z foldable smartphones with AI features

Samsung Electronics has unveiled its latest foldable smartphone lineup, featuring three new devices: the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8. The company aims to make foldable technology more accessible and bolster its push into artificial intelligence (AI)-powered mobile experiences.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 boasts a redesigned foldable experience, allowing seamless switching between its cover and larger inner display. Weighing 201 grams, it is Samsung's lightest Fold device to date. It features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy and a 4,800mAh battery. The new Flex Titanium display structure enhances durability and reduces the visibility of the screen crease, with a brightness of up to 3,000 nits for outdoor use.

For enhanced productivity, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, described as its most advanced foldable yet. This model features an eight-inch main display for multitasking, an advanced camera system, and improved cooling for demanding tasks. Measuring 4.1 millimeters unfolded and weighing 215 grams, it is also Samsung's slimmest Fold model.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 is designed for portability and self-expression, incorporating AI-powered features through its FlexWindow for quicker access to information and shortcuts. Artificial intelligence is central to the new devices, with Galaxy AI optimized for personalized and proactive experiences. The smartphones also integrate Google's Gemini Intelligence, enabling users to perform tasks across applications more efficiently while maintaining transparency, privacy, and user control.
