Santa Cruz municipality intensifies school cleaning ahead of academic year

Santa Cruz's municipal government is accelerating cleaning and conditioning work across 378 schools in preparation for the return of students. The Empresa Municipal de Aseo Urbano Santa Cruz (Emacruz) is leading the initiative to guarantee safe, clean, and disinfected environments.

Following an inspection at the Módulo Hilandería educational unit, Jesús Anthony Soria, head of Emacruz's Inspection Department, detailed the scope of the work. It encompasses grass cutting, tree pruning, raking, general sweeping, and the thorough cleaning and disinfection of bathrooms, along with interior and exterior areas of the establishments.

These tasks are being carried out in coordination with municipal districts and education coordinators to adhere to the established timeline. Soria highlighted that the goal is to have intervened in all 378 educational infrastructures by Sunday, meeting the municipal target for students to return to optimal conditions.

The operation also includes removing small dumpsites, pruning debris, and discarded tires, which are crucial steps in reducing mosquito breeding and preventing the spread of diseases. Soria urged parents, directors, teachers, and students to help preserve the school facilities by keeping them clean and well-maintained throughout the academic year.
