Saudi Arabia Airport Investment Offered to Indonesian Firm; Minister Reports on Hajj Village Progress

Indonesian Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani has updated President Prabowo Subianto on the development of the 'Kampung Haji' (Hajj Village) project in Mecca and Medina, Saudi Arabia. The project is reportedly entering the architect selection and illustration phase.

Rosan, who recently returned from Saudi Arabia, also revealed that his company, Danantara, has been offered a stake in the Madinah airport. He met with officials from the Saudi Ministry of Investment and an advisor to the King to discuss potential collaborations, including airport investment.

Coincidentally, there is cooperation with the investment ministry there. Coincidentally, the investment minister also just invited me, and I also met with the King's advisor, and discussed several collaborations in the airport sector in Madinah. One of them, Danantara was offered a portion of ownership in the Madinah airport.

Danantara is currently evaluating the airport investment offer and is in communication with Mada International Holdings/Mada Group, the airport's operator. In addition to these international discussions, Rosan also reported on efforts to improve the operational systems within Indonesian state-owned enterprises (BUMN). He conveyed the President's directive to reduce bureaucratic layers in large companies like Pertamina and PLN to accelerate decision-making, boost productivity, and enhance efficiency.
