Saudi Border Guard arrests 13 and seizes 280kg of khat, 37kg of hashish and 45,000 pills

Saudi Border Guard patrols arrested 13 people and disrupted three smuggling operations in the Asir and Jazan regions, seizing large quantities of khat, hashish and pills.

In Asir, patrols in the Al-Raboua Sector arrested four Ethiopian nationals accused of violating the Border Security Law while attempting to smuggle 80 kilograms of narcotic khat. In Jazan, patrols in the Al-Da’ir Sector arrested nine Yemeni and Ethiopian nationals and seized 200 kilograms of khat.

In a separate operation in Asir’s Al-Raboua Sector, Border Guard units thwarted the smuggling of 45,000 tablets subject to medical circulation regulations and 37 kilograms of narcotic hashish.

Authorities said initial legal procedures had been completed in all three cases. The suspects and seized items were handed over to the competent authority.
