Saxony Supports "Brot für die Welt" with 2.25 Million Euros in Donations

The German state of Saxony has demonstrated strong support for the Protestant aid organization "Brot für die Welt" (Bread for the World), with donations totaling nearly 2.25 million euros in the past year. This figure reflects a continued commitment from the region to the organization's global mission.

While the total amount represents a slight decrease compared to the previous year's 2.26 million euros and 2023's 2.16 million euros, the consistency in donations highlights Saxony's significant contribution. The Diakonisches Werk Sachsen, which oversees the organization's activities in the region, reported these figures.

Nationwide, "Brot für die Welt" received a substantial 72.6 million euros in donations. The organization utilized these funds to support around 3,000 projects across the globe. Key areas of focus included promoting global justice, fostering peace, advancing education, and actively working to alleviate hunger and poverty.

Regional priorities for the supported projects were concentrated in Africa and Asia, reflecting the organization's strategic allocation of resources to areas with significant needs. "Brot für die Welt" operates as a non-governmental organization dedicated to addressing systemic issues that perpetuate inequality and hardship worldwide.
