Scattered Rain Across Nation Today, Temperatures to Plummet Tomorrow Morning

South Korea is bracing for a shift in weather patterns as scattered rain is forecast for Monday, followed by a sharp temperature drop on Tuesday morning. The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) anticipates occasional rain across most of the country from morning to afternoon on Monday, with precipitation amounts generally less than 5mm, except for Jeju Island which may see around 5mm. Skies are expected to clear up gradually from the late afternoon.

While Monday's daytime high temperatures will remain near the seasonal average, ranging from 15 to 23 degrees Celsius, a significant change is on the horizon. Cold air will flow in from the northwest starting Monday afternoon, causing Tuesday morning temperatures to plummet by 5 to 10 degrees Celsius compared to Monday. This will lead to a considerable temperature difference of about 15 degrees Celsius between day and night, with frost possible in inland mountainous areas of Gangwon Province early Tuesday.

Residents are advised to be cautious of dry conditions in parts of the Seoul metropolitan area, inland Gangwon, and northern Chungcheong, as well as other inland central regions. The strong winds, with instantaneous speeds potentially reaching 15-20 meters per second, further elevate the risk of fires. The KMA urges vigilance to prevent any potential accidents.
