School holiday calendar for the 2026-2027 academic year approved in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan's Ministry of Education has finalized the school holiday calendar for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. The academic year is set to commence on September 1, 2026, and conclude on May 25, 2027.

Students can anticipate regular breaks throughout the year, including fall, winter, and spring holidays. Notably, first-grade students will benefit from an extended rest period, receiving an additional week off in February. The academic structure is divided into four terms, with the first and second terms lasting eight weeks each, the third term extending to ten weeks, and the final term also comprising eight weeks.

The autumn break is scheduled to begin on October 26, 2026, lasting seven days until November 1. The winter break will be more substantial, running for 14 calendar days from December 28, 2026, to January 10, 2027. Following this, first-graders will enjoy their special seven-day break from February 8 to 14, 2027. The spring break is set from March 22 to March 28, 2027.

In addition to the holiday schedule, the Ministry is also preparing the final certification dates for students in grades 9 through 12. Detailed information regarding these crucial examination dates will be published on the Ministry's official information resources.
