School officials demand police dismantle bunker after hundreds of weapons found

School administrators in Pondok Pinang, South Jakarta, are demanding that police immediately investigate and dismantle a bunker located on school grounds. This urgent request follows the discovery of nearly 1,000 weapons, including firearms and ammunition, in the office of a former foundation chairman.

The school's legal representative, Hermawanto, expressed deep concern that the adjacent bunker might also house weapons. "We are worried that this room also contains weapons. We have asked the authorities to follow up," Hermawanto stated, adding that the school feels the authorities have been slow to act on their report.

Hermawanto indicated that the office where the weapons were found was managed by a former administrator who has since been dismissed. The school claims no knowledge of the weapons' presence until their discovery. The weapons found include four long-barrel guns, two short-barrel guns, suppressors, seven magazines, various calibers of ammunition, airsoft guns resembling P90, AK-47, and M4 Carbine, a taser gun, and equipment for making bullets.

However, Alhadid Endar Putra, CEO of PT Lokta Karya Perbakin and the self-proclaimed owner of the weapons, asserted that all 995 airsoft guns are legally permitted and were stored at the location since 2020 for a shooting club extracurricular activity. He stated the activity ceased after the club's advisor passed away in 2022.
