Schoolchildren from Kyrgyzstan win medals at chemistry and biology Olympiads

Kyrgyz students have achieved notable success in international science competitions, bringing home multiple medals. Ermek Samatov, a 12th-grade student from the AIM school, earned a bronze medal at the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO). The prestigious event took place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from July 10 to July 19, 2026, gathering top high school students globally to showcase their chemical knowledge and practical abilities. The Kyrgyz Ministry of Education confirmed Samatov's achievement. In parallel, Kyrgyz students also excelled at the 37th International Biology Olympiad (IBO 2026), held in Vilnius, Lithuania, from July 12 to July 19. The national team secured two bronze medals and one honorable mention. The medalists were Atahan Isiraev, an 11th-grade student from the "Kut Bilim" educational complex in the Issyk-Kul region, and Ulukbek Ruslanbekov, a 10th-grade student from the "Seitek-STEM" educational institution. Irina Razvodovskaya, an 11th-grade student from the "Maariph" educational institution, received an honorable mention. The Ministry of Education also recognized the coaches and team leaders who guided the students to these accomplishments.
