SCO summit: Vladimir Putin thanks President Sadyr Japarov

Russian President Vladimir Putin opened his remarks to journalists after the official events in Bishkek by thanking Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov for organizing the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.

Putin said the Kyrgyz side had carried out an enormous amount of work and that the event had been held at the highest international level. He described the organization as flawless and congratulated Japarov and his wider team on the outcome.

He also highlighted the importance of the documents adopted at the forum. “I would like to begin by thanking the President of Kyrgyzstan and all his colleagues for the work they did to organize the SCO summit,” Putin said. “A tremendous amount of work was done. Everything was worthy and held at a good international level, the organization was flawless, and important documents were adopted.”
