Scoreless draw in first leg of Slovenian promotion playoff

The first leg of the promotion playoff for Slovenia's top football league concluded in a goalless stalemate between Primorje and Nafta in Ajdovščina. Neither team managed to break the deadlock, leaving the promotion race wide open for the return fixture.

Primorje, who finished ninth in the top division this season, had hoped to secure an advantage at home. However, their inability to convert chances was evident, as they failed to score despite playing at home, where they have not won a single match this season.

Nafta, the second-placed team in the lower division, threatened early on but had a goal disallowed for offside. While Primorje had more promising attacks in the second half, including hitting the crossbar in the 55th minute, they could not find the back of the net. The match saw Primorje forced to make an early substitution due to injury.

With the first leg ending 0-0, the fate of promotion will be decided in the second leg, scheduled for Sunday in Lendava. Nine teams have already secured their places in the top league for the 2026/27 season.
