Scotland withdraws from World Cup test match against Norway due to injuries

The Scottish national football team has withdrawn from a scheduled test match against Norway because of player injuries, the Norwegian Football Federation (NFF) announced early Sunday. The game was intended as a final warm-up for Norway before the World Cup.

NFF Media Manager Morten Skjønsberg confirmed the cancellation via email, stating, "I want to inform you that we were informed today that Scotland unfortunately had to withdraw from the agreement due to injuries." This news comes just after Scotland secured a 4-0 victory over Bolivia in a test match on Saturday.

The match against Scotland was slated to take place Monday behind closed doors. Norwegian national team coach Ståle Solbakken had previously indicated his intention to use this game to provide playing opportunities for several players expected to be reserves in the final World Cup squad.

With the cancellation, the Norwegian team will conduct a training session instead on Monday at their World Cup base in North Carolina. Norway is scheduled to begin their World Cup campaign in a fortnight against Iraq, followed by group stage matches against Senegal and France.
