SDA College of Education inaugurates new dormitories to ease student congestion

The SDA College of Education in Asokore, Eastern Region, has received a significant boost with the inauguration of two new dormitory blocks. These facilities, named the Rose Owusu-Kakra Hall and the Charles Kuma-Korante Hall, are designed to address the pressing issue of student accommodation congestion and improve overall living conditions.

The inauguration ceremony, attended by various stakeholders including church leaders and college officials, highlighted the importance of education as a cornerstone of national development. Pastor Col. (Rtd) Peter Nyarko Duodu, President of the South East Ghana Union Mission (SEGUM) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, commended the college's management for their proactive use of internally generated funds for facility maintenance. He also stressed the need for students to take personal responsibility for preserving the new dormitories.

Prof. Vincent Adzahlie-Mensah, the Principal of the college, shared the institution's strategic vision, which includes expanding residential infrastructure to enhance student welfare. He noted that the halls were named to honor key figures who contributed to the college's growth. Future development plans include government-funded projects like a new male dormitory and an auditorium, alongside internally funded projects slated for completion by 2027, aiming to elevate the college's status and support Ghana's development through education.
