Search intensifies for 17-year-old girl missing in Corrientes

Authorities in Corrientes, Argentina, are intensely searching for a 17-year-old girl, Iara Ayelén Duprat, who disappeared last Friday in the southern town of Curuzú Cuatiá.

The National Ministry of Security has activated "Alerta Sofía," a protocol used when a missing minor is believed to be in danger of death. The teenager is described as having a robust build, standing approximately 1.55 meters tall, with fair skin, short, blue-black hair reaching her shoulders, and green eyes. She has distinctive tattoos: "Dalil" and butterflies on one hand, "Mauricio" on her ribs, and "Bryan" on another part of her body.

Sources close to the investigation suggest Iara has a young child whom she left with her mother and uncle. She reportedly boarded a truck to meet a 50-year-old man with whom she is said to be in a romantic relationship. The report filed by the Corrientes Police indicates the young woman is also known by the nickname "Kiara." Her social media posts show she moved to Curuzú Cuatiá in August 2025.

Anyone with information regarding Iara's whereabouts is urged to contact the free, anonymous, 24-hour hotline at 134. The alert was issued following a report filed by a family member.
