Second Family Member Dies After SUV Plunges Down Jujuy Ravine

A family vacation in Jujuy, Argentina, turned tragic with the death of a second family member following a devastating accident. Lorena Paola González, 33, died on Thursday at the Pablo Soria Hospital in San Salvador de Jujuy, succumbing to injuries sustained when their SUV plunged approximately 80 meters down a ravine.

González had been hospitalized since the incident, which occurred on Sunday. Her mother, Silvia Rosana Amaro, was pronounced dead at the scene. By Wednesday, González had been declared brain-dead, with her passing confirmed the following day.

The family, including González, her partner, her parents, and her brother, had been traveling in northern Argentina for a vacation, with their trip including stops in Salta before reaching Jujuy.

The accident took place on Route 52, near kilometer 30 of the Cuesta de Lipán. The vehicle was traveling northbound when the driver lost control. The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation. Other drivers in the area alerted authorities after witnessing the destroyed vehicle.
