Second Most Wanted Man in Pichincha Captured in Quito for Fatal Traffic Accident

Ecuadorian police have apprehended Wilson Patricio T. M. in Quito, identifying him as the second most sought-after individual in the Pichincha province. The arrest was made as part of "Operation Fénix 377L" by the National Unit for the Detention of High-Risk Persons Wanted by the Law.

Wilson Patricio T. M., a 40-year-old Ecuadorian national, was found to have an active arrest warrant issued by judicial authorities. He is accused of culpable homicide stemming from a serious traffic accident that occurred on March 5, 2023, in the rural parish of Quito known as the "Y" of Calacalí.

The intervention was carried out by the National Unit for the Detention of High-Risk Persons Wanted by the Law, through the operation called “Fénix 377”.

According to investigative reports cited by the National Police, T. M. was allegedly driving one of the vehicles involved and veered into the oncoming lane with an imprudent maneuver. The investigation also indicated he was exceeding the speed limit, which investigators believe prevented any evasive action and directly led to a head-on collision between a van and a light vehicle.

The tragic incident resulted in the deaths of four individuals and left another four seriously injured. These consequences form the basis of the judicial proceedings for which T. M. is now being held. Following his capture, police handed him over to the competent authorities to continue the legal process, reaffirming their commitment to public safety and judicial compliance.
