Security Forces Kill 29 Terrorists in Operations Along Pakistan-Afghan Border

Pakistan's security forces have eliminated 29 terrorists in coordinated ground and air operations along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, Information Minister Ataullah Tarar announced Sunday night. These "well-planned intelligence-based" actions targeted hideouts and safe havens of Jamaatul Ahrar and Fitna al Khawarij, a term the state uses for the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

on 28 June 2026, security forces conducted an intelligence-based ground operation against a group of terrorists near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Bajaur District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. As a result of precise and skillful engagement, high-value khawarji Commander Khan Farosh aka Zabal, along with 3 terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Jamaat ul Ahrar were sent to hell while several others got injured.

The minister stated the kinetic actions were a direct response to recent terrorist attacks within Pakistan, including incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and an attack on a Pakistan Rangers camp in Karachi. The Karachi attack on Saturday night resulted in the martyrdom of three security personnel, with retaliatory action killing three terrorists and arresting one, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Details from the operation on June 28 in Bajaur District revealed the killing of a high-value commander, Khan Farosh, along with three other terrorists belonging to Jamaat ul Ahrar. Subsequent precision strikes on June 28-29 in the Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar regions of Afghanistan destroyed 25 terrorist targets and significant quantities of weapons and ammunition.
