Security forces kill 5 terrorists in Balochistan operation

Security forces have eliminated five terrorists, including a prominent commander, during an intelligence-based operation in the Panjgur district of Balochistan. The operation, conducted in the Sarkini and Chedgi areas, is part of the broader 'Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-3' aimed at combating militancy in the region.

According to security sources, the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation against Fitna al Hindustan terrorists in Sarkani and Chedgi areas of Panjgur, killing five terrorists, including a key Fitna al Hindustan commander, Wazir.

According to state broadcaster Radio Pakistan, the slain militants belonged to a group designated as 'Fitna al Hindustan,' a term used by the Pakistani military to describe alleged Indian involvement in destabilizing Pakistan. Authorities recovered four motorcycles, machine guns, and heavy weaponry from the site. The terrorists were reportedly involved in criminal activities such as robbery, extortion, and kidnapping, and had targeted local traders and residents.

The successful action had thwarted the nefarious designs of the terrorists and dealt a major blow to their activities in the region.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for their professionalism and successful action, stating that it thwarted the terrorists' plans and significantly disrupted their operations. He emphasized the importance of eliminating such elements for lasting peace and stability in Balochistan and the country. This operation follows a series of similar actions across Balochistan, where security forces killed 15 terrorists in multiple intelligence-based operations just a day prior.

The successful operation demonstrated the security forces’ preparedness, professionalism and unwavering commitment to combating terrorism.

The increased security operations coincide with a notable worsening of the security situation in Balochistan. A recent report indicated a 241% rise in the overall death toll in the province during July, with significant increases in deaths among security personnel, terrorists, and civilians. Eighteen members of peace committees were also killed in the province last month.
