Security guard pulls young girl from tram’s path at the last moment

A security guard pulled a young girl away from an approaching tram by her shirt at a station in Samsun, Turkey, in a rescue captured on security cameras.

I noticed a child around five years old jumping in front of the tram. At that moment, my own daughter came to mind, and I risked my life to save her. I feel very at ease in my conscience. I rescued her instinctively, and my hands and feet were really trembling. Nothing bad happened to the girl.

The incident occurred at Cumhuriyet Meydanı Tram Station in the İlkadım district. The girl, who appeared to be about five years old, ran toward a pedestrian crossing over the tram tracks as the vehicle approached. The driver braked suddenly, while SAMULAŞ security guard Muhammet Lafçı intervened and pulled her clear.
