Seixas: 'I'm still in the fight for the general classification'

French cyclist Paul Seixas expressed disappointment at losing the white jersey, awarded to the best young rider in the Tour de France, to Mexico's Isaac del Toro. However, Seixas remains determined, stating he is still "in the fight for the general classification."

I climbed the last mountain at my own pace. I could have given more at some moments, I hesitated a little, but I finished very strong. It was a good climb, but I am in the fight for the general classification.

Reflecting on the recent stage, Seixas noted that he climbed the final mountain at his own pace. While acknowledging he could have pushed harder at certain moments and experienced some hesitation, he finished strongly. "It was a good climb, but I am in the fight for the general classification," he asserted.

Despite the loss of the jersey, Seixas is pleased with his overall performance. He highlighted the challenges faced, including an early puncture that required significant effort to overcome. "I'm happy, I've had a good performance. It wasn't easy with the puncture I suffered at the beginning, that made me expend a lot of energy," he added.

Looking ahead, Seixas remains optimistic about the final week of the race. He emphasized his consistent solidity over the past two weeks and hopes to maintain this form. Seixas currently sits fourth in the general classification, trailing leader Tadej Pogacar and just 25 seconds behind third-placed Del Toro.
