Senegal: 42 Irregular Migrants Intercepted in Diouloulou Forest

The Brigade territoriale de la gendarmerie of Diouloulou has once again demonstrated its vigilance and effectiveness in combating clandestine migration. This Wednesday, acting on crucial operational intelligence, gendarmes successfully intercepted a group of 42 individuals attempting to migrate irregularly.

This operation, which took place in the Niafrang forest, underscores the persistent challenges faced by our nation in controlling its borders and protecting vulnerable populations from the perilous journeys associated with clandestine migration. The group comprised 32 men, 8 women, and 2 children, highlighting the diverse individuals risking their lives in pursuit of perceived better opportunities.

These individuals have been transferred to the Section de Recherches in Ziguinchor for further investigation.
