Senior Colonel Hoang Quoc Viet Appointed Director of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police

Senior Colonel Hoang Quoc Viet has been appointed as the new Director of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, taking over from Major General To Anh Dung. The announcement came on August 10th, with Colonel Viet assuming his new responsibilities in a ceremony following the official decision.

Colonel Viet, who was born in 1975 and hails from Hien Khanh commune in Ninh Binh province, has a long-standing career within Vietnam's police force. He began his service as an official in the administrative and public order police unit of the former Moc Chau District Police in Son La province.

His career progression saw him hold various leadership positions, including deputy head and head of the Criminal Police Division, Deputy Chief of Moc Chau District Police, and Deputy Director, then Director, of the Organization and Personnel Department of the Son La Provincial Police. He later served as Deputy Director of the Son La Provincial Police.

In November 2022, while serving as Deputy Director and Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Son La Provincial Police, Colonel Viet received a new assignment from the Minister of Public Security. He was transferred to the position of Deputy Director of the Anti-Drug Crime Investigation Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security.

The current leadership team of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police now includes Director Hoang Quoc Viet and several deputy directors, all holding the rank of Senior Colonel: Tran Thai Quang Hoang, Le Ngoc Anh, Nguyen Anh Tuan, Trinh Van Giang, and Kim Duy Cuong.
