Seo Jang-hoon attempts wild ginseng harvest for the first time

Broadcast personality Seo Jang-hoon is embarking on a new adventure, trying his hand at harvesting wild ginseng for the first time on the EBS program 'My Neighbor, the Millionaire.' He meets Park Jeong-hee, a forest management expert who owns a vast estate of approximately 820,000 pyeong, an area comparable to Yeouido Island in Seoul.

The program will feature Park Jeong-hee, whose family has managed the land for four generations. Their forest, located in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province, was recognized as one of Korea's top 100 forests in 2023. The family was also honored with the 'Forest Family' award the following year for their continuous dedication to forest cultivation.

Upon arriving at the expansive property, Seo Jang-hoon and co-host Jang Ye-won express awe at the sheer scale of the land. They inquire if the entire visible landscape belongs to their host, marveling at its immense size. The exploration includes an introduction to various forest products.

At a wild ginseng field cultivated beneath pine trees, Park Jeong-hee explains that a set of 7-8 wild ginseng roots can cost between 400,000 and 500,000 won. Seo Jang-hoon and Jang Ye-won then attempt to harvest the ginseng themselves, carefully digging around the roots to avoid damage. Seo Jang-hoon successfully harvests a root, and Jang Ye-won, though nervous about potentially damaging it, also achieves her first harvest. Seo Jang-hoon, showing a competitive spirit, asks to select the best ginseng they harvested.
