A Seoul conference will examine North Korea through the pages of Rodong Sinmun, with researchers discussing two approaches to reading the newspaper.

The conference, organized by the North Korea Digital Archives Center at the University of North Korean Studies and supported by the Academy of Korean Studies, will present research on discourse during the Kim Jong Un era and identity representations in North Korea’s external rhetoric. It will also discuss systematic collection, organization and metadata creation for Rodong Sinmun data, with the goal of expanding its academic use.

Dong-A Exhibition Co. said it will hold the 2026 Seoul Furniture and Interior Fair and the 2026 Seoul Tea and Crafts Fair at SETEC in Seoul’s Gangnam district from September 10 to 13. Visitors will be able to see furniture, interior products, accessories, ceramics, teaware and crafts. People who register in advance can receive free admission invitations.

The Center for Educational Innovation Support at Sungkyul University is holding the 2026 Sungkyul FAIR: Digging through September 9 at the university’s academic information center in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province. The event introduces students to extracurricular programs, youth policies and community initiatives, while offering opportunities to experience extracurricular activities.

The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and the Korea Racing Authority signed a “Healing Horse Riding” agreement on September 7. The program will provide horseback-riding experiences to 1,500 families of fallen military and police personnel and people eligible for veterans’ benefits, funded by a 100 million won donation from the Korea Racing Authority’s social contribution foundation.
