Serbian Media Group Reports New Death Threat Against Podcast Hosts

The Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM) has reported a new death threat directed at Marko Vidojković and Nenad Kulačin, hosts of the "Dobar, loš, zao" (Good, Bad, Evil) podcast.

The threat appeared in the comments section of an Instagram post featuring an excerpt from their show, which included guest Naim Leo Beširi. Both Vidojković and Kulačin, as well as Beširi, were subjected to disturbing and threatening messages. The specific threat, posted by an Instagram user identified as "lesicslobodan," included violent language and calls for their deaths.

ANEM reported the incident to the Prosecutor's Office for High-Tech Crime. The organization highlighted that out of approximately ten threats issued from this particular account this year, none have resulted in prosecution or sanctions. They are demanding that the Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Interior's Department for High-Tech Crime pay close attention to accounts that regularly target journalists with threats, intimidation, and hate speech.

Veran Matić, a member of the Permanent Working Group for the Safety of Journalists and chairman of ANEM's board, noted that the identities of those making threats from these accounts are often easily discoverable as they do not conceal themselves. He pointed out that in the past year and a half, out of 111 cases handled by the Prosecutor's Office for High-Tech Crime, only one perpetrator was identified and sanctioned.
