Seven dead in Vietnam bus crash and fire

A passenger bus carrying 24 people crashed into a roadside barrier on National Highway 1 in Vietnam's Dong Nai province early Tuesday, erupting into flames and killing seven people. The accident occurred around 2 a.m. near the Song Thao intersection in Hung Thinh commune.

The bus, driven by 41-year-old Tran Thanh Hai, was traveling from Lam Dong to Ho Chi Minh City when it veered off the road and struck the barrier. The driver managed to open the door and help some passengers escape, but the fire spread rapidly, trapping others inside.

The blaze completely destroyed the bus. In addition to the seven deaths, five passengers were injured. The total number of people on board has not yet been confirmed. Authorities in Dong Nai are currently investigating the cause of the crash and the fire.
