SGS outclasses Ba Pro

Suva Grammar School has secured its spot in the Vodafone Deans Trophy Under-18 semi-finals, emerging as the final qualifying side after a decisive 23-7 victory over Ba Provincial Free Bird Institute. The match took place at the HFC Bank Stadium.

The Lions established a strong 15-0 lead by halftime. Despite Ba Provincial's efforts in the second half, which saw them score a try and a converted penalty in the 55th minute, Suva Grammar maintained control throughout the game. Their strong defensive performance limited the western giant's scoring opportunities.

Earlier in the day, Ra High School delivered the biggest upset, narrowly defeating the defending champions, Ratu Kadavulevu School, with a score of 12-10. Nasinu Secondary School also advanced after a close match, edging out Cuvu College 28-26. Lelean Memorial School secured a dominant win against Ratu Navula College, finishing 26-5.

The semi-final matches are scheduled to take place next week. Two venues will host the intense matchups: the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva and Churchill Park in Lautoka. The remaining teams will battle for a place in the final, continuing the prestigious tournament's legacy.
