Sharjah roads body expands Kalba Ring Road

The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has finished developing the Kalba Ring Road, a project aimed at significantly improving the local traffic network. The initiative involved expanding the existing road to a length of 5.8 kilometers, a move designed to meet the accelerating development needs of the city.

A key feature of the upgrade is the addition of a third lane along the entire road. This expansion is intended to boost capacity, particularly during peak hours, thereby easing traffic flow and reducing congestion. The SRTA also focused on enhancing safety by implementing dedicated acceleration and deceleration lanes at the road's entrances and exits, facilitating smoother and more secure vehicle transitions.

Beyond the road surface, the project included updating associated infrastructure. These improvements ensure the road is equipped to handle both current and future traffic demands, promoting greater sustainability and efficiency in the region's mobility. The development is expected to improve connectivity and travel experiences for residents and visitors in Kalba.
