Sharjah starts traffic diversions from Monday over Etihad Rail project

Sharjah's Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has announced partial traffic openings and diversions to facilitate the ongoing Etihad Rail project. Starting Monday, August 24, traffic lanes will be partially opened between University City and the Institutes Land area, with two lanes provided in each direction. This route will pass through Industrial Area 17 and University Bridge, leading to University City.

Simultaneously, traffic will be partially closed and diverted from Industrial Area 17 towards Mleiha Street. The SRTA has established alternative routes to ensure continued access to services and facilities in the surrounding areas, as detailed in the approved traffic plan. These diversions are scheduled to remain in effect until Sunday, October 4, 2026.

The SRTA urges all road users to adhere to the approved traffic diversions, follow directional and regulatory signs, and comply with traffic safety guidelines. These measures are crucial for ensuring the safety of all road users and maintaining smooth traffic flow throughout the project's implementation period.
