Shooting leaves two dead on Tláhuac and Xochimilco border; assailants unidentified

A shooting on Wednesday night resulted in the deaths of two men in the Olivar de Santa María area, located on the border between the Tláhuac and Xochimilco boroughs of Mexico City. The incident occurred on Pabellón Tricolor street, near Escudo Nacional.

According to initial reports, the victims were approached by assailants riding motorcycles. The attackers fired at close range before fleeing the scene. One of the deceased men has been identified as Manuel. The second victim, who was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, remained unidentified at the time of reporting.

Witnesses described the assailants arriving on motorcycles and opening fire on the victims at close distance. One man sustained multiple gunshot wounds and fell in the middle of the street. Approximately 10 to 12 shell casings were recovered from the scene by authorities.

Paramedics who arrived at the location confirmed that both men showed no vital signs. Police from the Secretariat of Citizen Security cordoned off the area and notified the Public Ministry. Forensic experts were on site to collect evidence and conduct initial investigations.
