ShopeePay boosts financial inclusion with new ATM cash withdrawal service

ShopeePay is actively working to boost financial inclusion in Indonesia by integrating digital transactions with the public's need for physical cash. The company has launched a new service enabling users to withdraw funds from their digital wallets at any of the more than 20,000 Bank Central Asia (BCA) ATMs across the country, without requiring a physical card.

This new feature offers users a convenient, flexible, and cost-free way to access their digital balances. Eka Nilam Dari, President Director of ShopeePay Indonesia, emphasized the importance of easy access to financial services for broader participation in the digital economy. Dari explained that the cardless ATM withdrawal service provides a more flexible option for users to manage their funds. This initiative is expected to increase user confidence in digital financial services and cater to those who still rely on cash for various activities. By connecting digital wallets with the extensive BCA ATM network, ShopeePay aims to broaden the reach of digital financial services, particularly in areas where cash remains essential.

To use the service, ShopeePay users can select the "Withdraw Cash" option in the app, choose BCA ATM as the method, specify the withdrawal amount, and enter their ShopeePay PIN. They will then receive a customer number and a token code to be used at the ATM's cardless transaction menu. This feature complements ShopeePay's existing range of fee-free services, including free balance top-ups and transfers to bank accounts and other digital wallets, subject to terms and conditions.
