Showers and Thunderstorms Expected Amid Heatwave Warnings in Slovenia

Slovenia is bracing for a period of unsettled weather, with showers and thunderstorms expected to develop throughout the day, particularly in the western and southern parts of the country. The Primorska region, known for its coastal climate, could experience heavy rainfall.

The weather forecast indicates variable to mostly cloudy skies, with clearer conditions anticipated in the eastern regions. A southwesterly wind will also be present. Daytime temperatures are predicted to range between 22 and 28 degrees Celsius. Overnight, the atmosphere is expected to calm down, with clearer skies and temperatures between 12 and 18 degrees Celsius.

Looking ahead to Monday, the weather is expected to be mostly sunny. However, there's a possibility of short-lived showers and thunderstorms in the interior of Slovenia during the afternoon. Temperatures are forecast to rise, reaching between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius. The Slovenian Environment Agency (Arso) has warned that a high risk of fire persists in much of the Primorska region.

Tuesday and Wednesday are predicted to be predominantly sunny. The current weather pattern is influenced by a shallow cyclonic system over the northern Adriatic, bringing warm and humid air from the southwest. Neighboring regions, including Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Istria, are also expected to see increasing cloudiness, showers, and thunderstorms.
