Šiauliai Signs Former Rytas System Player Simas Jarumbauskas

Basketball club BC Šiauliai has bolstered its roster with the addition of Simas Jarumbauskas, a player previously part of the "Rytas" system. The club's sports director, Ginas Rutkauskas, expressed enthusiasm about the new signing.

"We know Simas as a fighter who always gives 100% effort in every game," Rutkauskas stated. "We followed his progress in the Adriatic League, where he impressed us positively. We believe his potential is even higher, and we will provide all conditions for him to reach it."

Last season, the Vilnius native played for Vienna in Austria, competing in both international and domestic championships. In the Adriatic League, Jarumbauskas averaged 11 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 13 efficiency points over 25 games, playing an average of 23 minutes per contest. His standout performance came against "Spartak Subotica," where he scored 24 points, drew nine fouls, and achieved an efficiency rating of 32, earning him the MVP of the week award for that round.

In the Austrian league, Jarumbauskas recorded averages of 13.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. Lithuanian fans will recognize Jarumbauskas from his previous stints in the LKL with teams like Jonava, Pasvalys, and Prienai. He began his NKL career with "Perlas Vilnius" and also played in Spain's second-tier league for Cáceres and Melilla during the 2022-2023 season.
