The General Secretariat of the Central American Integration System (SICA) has conveyed its deep solidarity with Spain and France as both nations battle severe forest fires. The fires have ravaged vast areas, forcing the evacuation of thousands of residents and causing significant damage.

In a statement, SICA expressed its support for the governments and peoples of Spain and France, acknowledging the immense scale of the wildfires. The organization specifically mentioned accompanying "the families of the victims and affected people." It also recognized the "arduous work of the authorities and emergency teams" striving to contain the blazes.

Spain is facing a critical situation, particularly in its central regions like Madrid, Ávila, and Toledo, as well as in the province of Castellón in the east. The fires have impacted over 171,000 individuals, including those evacuated or confined to their homes. Meanwhile, in France, a major fire near Bordeaux, which had consumed 42,000 hectares and led to 220,000 evacuations, was reported to be "globally stable" overnight. French authorities noted that while the fire had not advanced since Sunday night, the situation remained "unfavorable."
