Singapore Expands Tourism Push for Indonesians With Fly-Cruise Packages

Singapore is intensifying its tourism outreach to Indonesian visitors, shifting focus from traditional shopping destinations to a broader range of experiences. The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is actively promoting activities such as sports events, concerts, and art and cultural tourism to cater to evolving traveler preferences.

Indonesia remains a crucial market for Singapore's tourism industry, ranking as its second-largest source of international visitors after China and the largest within Southeast Asia. In 2025, Indonesian tourists accounted for approximately 14 percent of Singapore's total global tourist arrivals. Terrence Voon, STB's Executive Director for Southeast Asia, emphasized Indonesia's importance during a recent memorandum of understanding signing with TransNusa.

To further entice Indonesian travelers, STB and TransNusa have launched a "fly-cruise" concept. This initiative allows tourists to combine a flight to Singapore with a one-night stay in the city, followed by a two-to-four-night cruise. "This concept allows tourists to enjoy both city and sea vacations," Voon explained. Singapore serves as a major cruise hub in Southeast Asia, offering various cruise options.

The STB is also highlighting upcoming major events and new attractions to draw visitors. These include the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix, concerts by artists like Janet Jackson, CORTIS, BIGBANG, and BTS, as well as new destinations such as Rainforest Wild Asia and Curiosity Cave at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve. TransNusa, which operates multiple daily flights from Jakarta and Denpasar to Singapore, recently received an award for passenger growth at the 2026 Changi Airline Awards.
