Sister vows to 'shake the world' for justice five months after brother's police killing

Five months after police fatally shot David Boodoo in Sangre Grande, his family remains without answers, fueling his sister's vow to "shake the world" for justice.

Five months since my brother, David Boodoo, was taken from us, and not a single day has passed without him on my mind. The world keeps moving, but for our family, time stopped the day we lost you. We still hear your laughter in our memories, see your smile in our hearts, and feel the emptiness your absence has left behind. There are moments when it still doesn’t feel real.

Janelle Livingston, Boodoo's sister, expressed her enduring grief and determination in a social media post, stating that five months have passed without a day going by without her brother on her mind. "The world keeps moving, but for our family, time stopped the day we lost you," she wrote, remembering his laughter and the emptiness his absence has left.

Livingston pledged to uphold a promise made to her brother, vowing to fight for truth, justice, and accountability. "I refuse to let your name be forgotten or your life reduced to a headline. Your life mattered. Your voice mattered. You mattered," she declared. She thanked those who have supported their search for answers, noting their kindness provides strength.

"Let me be very clear to all who have questions and wondering. I am dedicating my life for my brother...I will shake the world until justice is served for David Boodoo. Hear me and hear me well. Every agency available to me I will utilise," Livingston stated.

Boodoo was shot and killed by police on March 4, 2026, at his home in Vega de Oropouche. Police claimed officers entered the premises and came under gunfire, leading to an exchange. Boodoo, who was on bail for a 2023 murder charge, was pronounced dead at the hospital. However, his family disputes this, alleging he was unarmed and shot multiple times on his bathroom floor, accusing police of excessive force.
