Six homes evacuated in Erzincan due to landslide risk

Authorities in Turkey's Erzincan province have evacuated six rural homes as a precautionary measure due to the significant risk of further landslides. The evacuations occurred in the Üçler neighborhood's Çermeler region of the Üzümlü district, following a landslide in the mountainous terrain.

Security forces, including gendarmerie and police, have secured the area. A local mountain road has been closed to both pedestrian and vehicle traffic to prevent any incidents.

Teams from the Erzincan Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) and the Üzümlü Municipality's Directorate of Science Affairs conducted ground surveys at the landslide site. Local officials, including the Üzümlü District Governor Hacı Osman Hökelekli and Mayor Lütfi Yakut, visited the area to assess the situation and receive briefings from Erzincan AFAD Branch Manager Murat Ursavaş.

Given the high probability of the landslide continuing and the direct threat to the homes situated below, the decision was made to evacuate the six houses. Officials stated that the affected area is under continuous monitoring, and further actions will be determined by ongoing developments.
