Six Injured, Including Four Children, in Romanian Highway Crash

A serious car accident occurred on Wednesday morning on National Road 1 (DN 1) between Veștem and Sibiu, Romania, resulting in injuries to all six occupants of a vehicle. The car, carrying two adults and four children, left the roadway, prompting an emergency response.

The injured individuals, ranging in age from 2 to 10 years old for the children, were all transported to Sibiu hospitals for medical attention. The younger children suffered abdominal trauma, a hand injury, and facial trauma, while the two adults also sustained injuries. A 29-year-old woman was taken to the Sibiu Emergency Reception Unit with a leg injury, and the 36-year-old male driver was transported to the Luther CPU with facial trauma and bruises.

According to the Sibiu County Police Inspectorate (IPJ Sibiu), initial investigations at the scene indicate the driver lost control of the vehicle for reasons yet to be determined. The driver, a resident of Brașov County, was traveling on the DN 1 when the incident occurred. Traffic in the area was significantly impacted during the intervention and investigation.

Police are continuing their investigation to establish the exact causes of the accident. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers on the road, particularly involving young passengers.

From the initial investigations at the scene, traffic police established that while driving a car on DN 1, between the localities of Veștem and Sibiu, a man, aged 36, residing in Brașov County, for reasons yet to be determined, lost control of the car he was driving and went off the road.
