Six Iranian soldiers killed in US strikes, Tasnim reports

Six members of Iran’s navy were killed in a US strike on Tuesday, Iranian news agency Tasnim reported, as fighting resumed this week.

Tasnim said the personnel died in a wave of US attacks, but did not specify the location. The report described the strike as a “criminal attack carried out by the terrorist US military” and said the six navy members had been killed in southern Iran.

Iranian state media reported at least 19 deaths from major US bombing across the country on Tuesday and Wednesday. Seven people were reported killed in Khuzestan province in southwestern Iran, while four Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps members died in Kermanshah province.

The reports also said three members of a paramilitary force were killed on Lavan Island in the Gulf and another died in Fars province. Iranian officials and media blamed the attacks for the deaths of four people at a wedding in Hormozgan province. It was not immediately clear whether the six navy personnel were included among the seven deaths previously reported in Khuzestan.
