Six new artists to join Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame

The Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame announced its 2026 class of inductees, recognizing six prominent artists for their contributions to Latin music. Among those entering the prestigious hall are producer Sergio George, Colombian songwriter Kike Santander, and Peruvian artist Gian Marco. Their inclusion celebrates decades of impactful work that has shaped the sound of Latin music globally.

Joining them in the 2026 induction class are Puerto Rican artist Yoel Henríquez, Mexican composer Mario Quintero Lara, and Spanish singer Danny Daniel. The artists will officially receive their honors at the 13th annual La Musa Awards ceremony, scheduled for October 14 at the Flamingo Theater in Miami. This event marks a significant moment for the Latin music community, honoring its creative architects.

In addition to the new inductees, the ceremony will pay tribute to the legendary Celia Cruz with a posthumous Legacy Award. Other honorees include Lupita Infante, who will receive the LA MUSA Elena Casals Award, Marti Cuevas, founder of Mayimba Music, with the Ralph S. Peer Publishers Award, and Beth Matthews, CEO of ASCAP, with the Founders Award. These accolades underscore the diverse range of contributions recognized, from artistic creation to music publishing and industry leadership.

The Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame, established in Miami in 2012 by songwriters Desmond Child and Rudy Pérez, aims to celebrate and preserve the legacy of Latin music's most influential composers and producers. George is noted for modernizing salsa in the 1990s and producing Marc Anthony's hit "Vivir mi vida." Santander penned Jennifer Lopez's "Let's Get Loud" and Thalía's "Arrasando," while Gian Marco wrote Gloria Estefan's chart-topping "Hoy." Quintero Lara is celebrated for "La chona" by Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Henríquez for co-writing "Pa' mis muchachas," and Daniel for "Por el amor de una mujer."
