Slipi Traffic Post Damaged by Mob; Police Assure Traffic Flow Restored

The traffic post in Slipi, West Jakarta, suffered damage after being vandalized by a mob during recent unrest near the DPR/MPR complex. The incident, which occurred on Thursday night, August 27, 2026, saw the post, including its central and roadside structures, significantly impacted.

Despite the damage to the post and some Transjakarta bus separators, police have assured the public that traffic conditions in West Jakarta have been restored to normalcy. AKP Sudarmo, KBO of the West Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit, stated that the Slipi to Tomang corridor is now clear and traffic is flowing smoothly.

Sudarmo noted that this is not the first time the Slipi traffic post has been targeted, recalling a similar incident in 2025. The damage this time reportedly affected the building's structure and some internal facilities, including air conditioning units and glass.

While the immediate traffic situation has been resolved, police are cautioning the public to remain vigilant in the Slipi area, as it was a focal point for crowds moving from the direction of the DPR/MPR building. The unrest, which followed a demonstration on August 27, led to disturbances in several parts of Jakarta, including disruptions to KRL train services.
